Music Stories is a platform offering a match-making service; matching music students of all levels to tutors of all levels. We helped define a new mission to ‘fill the world with more music, musician x musician’, and developed an overarching brand idea 'The Next Chapter' to capture progression and anticipation.
Context
Whether you're just beginnning your journey, looking to take it to the next level, or wanting to support and inspire the next generation of musicians, At its core Music Stories is a platform offering a match-making service; matching music students of all levels to tutors of all levels.
The idea
Defining a new mission to ‘fill the world with more music, musician x musician’ we then developed 'The Next Chapter' an idea to signify progression and anticipation. Leaning into this idea the design takes on a split screen approach, mimicking pages of a book in order to show a change state, present–future. Flowing type links messaging together in a musical way and references progression, allowing the audience to dream of what might be.




The creative
We then went about creating an identity rooted in the language of music. We developed an inspiring and exciting world using typographic variation to form the base of the identity, and using font pairings to create an expressive space that reflected the essence of music. Image pairings were added to reference the shift in state that music tuition can offer, giving the audience the space to dream. Flowing type was then used as a 'connector' device linking the two and evolving the story onwards. The elements were then placed into a framework of horizonal black lines known as a 'stave' in sheet music. This allows information to be supported and segmented into different 'compartments'. The identity was roled-out across social, website, and guidelines.
