Against a backdrop of AI-made music flooding the ‘mood’ genre, Real stand for just that – real music, made by real artists. Leaning into their name we helped position them as a human label.
Context
Real Music is home to chart topping, award winning and critically acclaimed artists who create music in support of personal wellbeing. Established in 1980, they are experts in identifying and nurturing the very best talent in the health and wellness space. With an identity that hadn't been updated in a decade and the rise of AI made music which lacks the ideosyncrasies that music made by humans has to offer.
The idea
A new idea ‘For a Real Life’ positioned them to their audience as a label making music that reflects the real moments in life.

The creative
The type, chosen for its ideosyncratic and variable characters give it a humanistic feel which hero’s through a series of poetic REAL acronyms that explore a deeper side to life. The addition of a colon to the logo opened up more opportunities for its application. By placing emotive real-world imagery behind it we were able to brand real life scenes using the image to substitute the word. This emotive approach provides space for the audience to let their minds wander into a more contemplative state. Using stock photography of the natural world, textural backgrounds could be created, either used singly or combined with a collaged approach. The identity is deliberately monochromatic for its purity. This allows colour to come through from the artists and albums on the newly designed website.

"I could not recommend working with Robin more highly. So far, he has breathed life into three brands within our group portfolio. He is quick to assimilate a vast amount of strategic information, and has the creativity to visualise this into something beautiful and elegant. His professionalism means he is dependable and reliable, which is a significant contributing factor to why we have used him for every piece of major brand work in our Group since finding him."
